Hi, I’m Devin. I’m a freelance writer and editor of over eleven years, working on everything from publishing articles to editing websites for entrepreneurs, and from copyediting literary fiction and textbooks to writing grants that fund arts organizations.
Since founding Kindred Word Studio in 2017, I’ve worked with dozens of creatives, entrepreneurs, and writers to develop their ideas, hone their written communication, and empower them to write confidently for their business or project. Clients have called me a “thought translator.”
My writing has appeared in PHOENIX, BOMB, Orion, The Rumpus, and elsewhere. I was awarded a grant from The Arizona Commission on the Arts to complete my zine Desert Pookas and in Summer 2025 I was an artist in residence at Rocking S Art Ranch in Phoenix.
Since January 2023, I’ve written The Good Enough Weekly, a newsletter published every Wednesday about food, politics, and labor. I write essays, blog posts, and eating and cooking round-ups that focus on how to eat better for all involved – myself and my family, food workers, animals, and the environment. Readers have called my newsletter, “So pertinent, so powerful,” “Honest,” and “Thoughtful.”
